The FLOPAK Pouch Filling System

The FLOPAK pouch is a development of L3 Container Corporation and the process and packaging system described below for water and juice products is a joint venture between L3 Container Corporation and IDD Process & Packaging, Inc.
FLOPAK provides the following benefits:

The pouch material is a specially formulated 3.1 mm thick laminated barrier PET based film that has a 3 layer sealant web for high strength after packaging.

The total process & packaging equipment required for the pouch water and juice products is made up of three equipment elements as follows:

1 The FLOPAK Pouch Filler and automatic handling system.
2 The "PurePass" Flash Pasteurization, CIP & SIP system.
3 The "Oxine" activation, distribution and dosing systems.

The IDD "PurePass" Flash Pasteurization system is designed to clean and sanitize the pouch filling system and flash pasteurizer prior to production and "Ultra" pasteurization of the product to maintain product sterility during production.

Two types of IDD Oxine systems are used for activation, distribution, fogging and washdown. In the case of pouch or PET bottled water, dosing at low levels to eliminate odors and improve package microbiological stability is a distinct benefit.
